The perfect “back-to-school” sweater for adults —Porter Pullover 1 is a classic redux on my Porter cardigan, a menswear/unisex raglan cardigan, turned womenswear raglan pullover with a collegiate v-neck and all the same luscious cables as the original.
This pullover is sized based on ASTM for Women, meaning it uses the standard measurements for womenswear for a more tailored fit. The yoke depth, body length, and sleeves are shorter than the original Porter cardigan.
We’re #teamseam! This pullover is worked from the bottom up in pieces and seamed. Optional directions for tubular cast ons are provided for the most polished finish. The ribbed v-neck is picked up and worked in the round after seaming and finished with an optional tubular bind off.

Hudson + West Co. Forge (70% U.S. Merino / 30% U.S. Corriedale; 235 yds / 200 m; 3.5 oz. / 100 g): raven (black), 6 (7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9, 10, 11) skeins.
Needles
Size A (for body and sleeves): US 7 / 4.5 mm: 32” / 80 cm circ.
Size B (for ribbing): US 5 / 3.75 mm: 32” / 80 cm circ.
Size C (optional, for tubular cast on and bind off): US 4 / 3.5 mm: 32” / 80 cm circ and 16” / 40 cm circ.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
